http://www.leaa.org/leosasturgis.html

This article is excited to say that a law has finally been made to allow all "qualified off-duty and retired law enforcement" are allowed to carry firearms. This law was put into effect after 2 cops were arrested under criminal charge for carrying guns while off-duty. This law that was put into effect is called the "Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act of 2004". After this law went into effect, the 2 officers arrested were released and all charges dropped.

This article is from the Brady Campaign, talking about the dangers of being allowed to hold firearms and store them in your home. He argues that "stronger, sensible gun laws" need to be enforced because of the many dangers presented using statistics that tell why gun control is so important and necessary. Some of the statistics say things like, "A gun in the home is more likely to result in suicide or homicide" "More than 40% of households with children store their firearm unlocked", and "Between 6% and 14% of firearm owning households with a child under 18 have an unlocked and loaded firearm".
